“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

Why I am here and what brought me to this profession

My journey to a helping profession started with a deep curiosity to understand human behaviors, emotions, and connections. Questions such as why we feel the way we do, why we relate the way we do, and what it means to truly know ourselves are nuanced and vary depending on perspectives and experiences. I love that these types of questions can be explored through relational connections built on trust, understanding, and genuine curiosity. My own exploration of these questions led me to seek therapeutic support when life became unmanageable. A fresh perspective and gentle encouragement led me to complete an ADHD examination, which resulted in an official diagnosis a few months later. Even though a diagnosis is not necessary to deepen our connections with ourselves and others, it did provide me with the language and tools to offer myself grace and understanding. Throughout this journey, I learned that healing and growth can often be overwhelming and confusing - but it is not something that we have to do alone.

Reaching out for support has helped me live a fuller life, and I hope to do the same with those that I am lucky enough to walk alongside in their journey.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Child Development, with a minor in Psychology, from Eastern Washington University. This opportunity provided me with a strong foundation in understanding human growth and emotional development. Ultimately, this led me to pursue a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Saint Bonaventure University.

Along the way, I gained clinical experience through internships with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families and Pacific Mental Health. Here, I worked with individuals, Families, and groups navigating a wide range of emotional and life challenges.

Clinical Background

Who I am outside of counseling

As a Washington local, I do my best to enjoy all that this beautiful state has to offer. In the winter, you’ll often find me snowboarding in the mountains, or curled up at home with some new hyperfixation hobby - currently knitting or crocheting! In the warmer months, I’ll be out hiking, biking, or walking around the city with my dog Benny!
